We are looking for enthusiastic people to teach our
summer science camps with the Palo Open Space Division.
The Palo Alto Open Space Division offers summer
science camps for children aged 4 to 12. The camps at Palo Alto Open
Spaces are all science based and are designed to be fun, hands-on, and
informative. The main goal for each camp is to get kids excited about
science and nature. This summer, we are offering Bay Camp (7 weeks) at
the Palo Alto Baylands and Wildlife Camp (one week) at Foothills Park.
Three staff members, a Director, an Assistant
Director, and a Counselor, lead each camp of 16 children. We’re hiring
for Assistant Directors and a Counselor for each camp.
Summer camp positions begin June 13th
and end August 19th. These jobs are for 30-35 hours per week
between 8:30am-3:30pm.
Pay ranges from $8.33-$17.26 per hour, depending
on the position and the candidate’s experience. An interest and
background in science, and teaching and working with children are
preferred.
A California driver’s license, negative TB test,
and fingerprinting are required.
These are temporary, non-benefited summer
positions.
We’re looking for people with knowledge of and
enthusiasm for natural history, botany, zoology, geology and chemistry.
If you have a passion for science and working with
